Early Life and Baseball Career

Timothy Charles Wallach, nicknamed "Eli," was born on September 14, 1957, in Hawthorne, California. He attended the University of Southern California, where he played college baseball.

Wallach was a third baseman and outfielder who played 17 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1980 to 1996. He played for the Montreal Expos, Los Angeles Dodgers, California Angels, and Detroit Tigers.

Wallach was a three-time All-Star (1986, 1988, and 1990) and won two Silver Slugger Awards (1989 and 1990). He finished his career with a .275 batting average, 268 home runs, and 1,121 RBIs.

Coaching Career

After retiring as a player, Wallach began a coaching career. He was a coach for the Angels from 1998 to 2002 and the Dodgers from 2003 to 2005.

In 2006, Wallach became the manager of the Salt Lake Bees, the Angels' Triple-A affiliate. He led the Bees to the Pacific Coast League championship in 2007.

From 2008 to 2012, Wallach was the manager of the Florida Marlins. He was fired after the 2012 season.
